I have a VDO rudder indicator at the lower helm that was installed when the boat was new but I want one on the upper as well.

Appears to me that a repeater is not possible with the current one so I guess I need to add a second complete system. Anybody like any particular model? No need for any sort of electronics interface.

Doesn't your AP have a rudder inicator on it? Almost everyone I've seen does. It may not be on the "main" page but that is one of the parametrs you have to program into the AP. When you set it up you have input the max rudder angle. Just a thought.........Pat

Do you have the capability to add a system to your Chart Plotter/GPS system?? I have Ray Marine Sea Talk , and while I wouldn't recommend that system it has workded well for me for the last 8500 miles as I rarely personally steer the boat.

I do not have a "current" autopilot; I have the original Raytheon Neco that was installed new on the boat in 1980. It just steers the boat (extremely well) but has no display or other interface capability. So I'm just looking for a stand-alone gauge. I hadn't thought about the fact that most folks have modern APs that have all that capability so no stand-alone gauge is necessary.

There is an interface that supposedly will bring rudder angle data into my Garmin chartplotter displays network but I'd really prefer a separate gauge.

I have a Raritan mk5 it was on the boat from the po. It's nothing more than an analog display. It's very simple and lo tech but thats what I like about it. It works great. There was a similar raritan product on my last boat that also gave trouble free service for as long as I owned the boat. I think they make a newer product now with a more modern display that's probably digital.

I'm not at the boat but have a VDO indicator at both stations with a single sender installed by PO. Just guessing that it is wired in parallel. It works so I've never checked how it was wired.

Mike, if you're up for a full install I think I have a rudder angle indicator new in a box that came with my 41 TC. If you want it, its yours. Give me a ring.

Can't beat that deal and only about 100 yards away! :)

Previous owner of Kismet installed a Raritan MK-2 in the pilothouse. It's worked great. I recently installed the MK-2R (remote) on the flybridge and it works perfect. It was only $179.00, but I already had the main unit.

If you have to put both in, I think you can get into them for well under $500.

I LOVE having the indicator on the Flybridge! :)
