Anyone have any experiance in this realm? Is it possible to simply replace a pane of the glass without buying a whole new window?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Ron

Yes. Remove the panes of glass (they are removed from the outside, not the inside, and you may or may not have to use a bottle jack to spread the middle of the frame apart just a hair). You may or may not have to first remove the metal pull strip that you grab to open the window. Then, lift the glass up while it's in the track, then tilt the bottom out towards you and remove the glass.

Take the piece to a glass shop and they will trace that window and make you another one of whatever glass you choose. The originals are laminated Solex. If you have window tint on your windows, then it won't matter whether you use Solex or clear glass. Make sure they clean up the edges of the glass to make them smooth - can't remember the term for that...

While the glass is out, replace all the fuzz and glides. Down here in South Florida, the fuzz and glides need to be done about every 4 years. If you wait too long and it becomes brittle, it's a pain in the butt to replace.

Thank you sooooo much!
Beautiful yacht you have there.

uhhh...what's a bottle jack?

Mine had so much wood rot, had to pull frames and rework wood. lots of epoxy used. Not a hard job, just messy.
