  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
61' MOTOR YACHT (1980 - 1985)
Q1. The area above the genset room has aframosia wood paneling but a previous owner seems to have added a reddish tint/ stain to the aframosia panels . I have reduced the reddish severity by wiping down with aceton, but would ideally like to now remove most of the reddish staining. Would you use a paint stripper to remove the reddish tint or possibly a bleach solution? Is there a chemical to remose wood stain?

Q2. I have imported some aftomosia veneer and have made a new door. The wood colour is natural but needs to be darker to match afromosia doors in salon. What would darken the bare afromosia?

(I will upload photos later.)

Thanks.

You will likely have to mix in some stain.

Buccaneer on this forum darkened some new wood by leaving it out in full sun a few days, as I recall. Ask him...
