Removal of diving platform

I have the diving platform removed off of my 1985 32' Flybridge so that I can replace the scuppers and the framing of the scuppers..(The way the platform is installed keeps you from getting to the screws..

Anyhow...I was considering keeping it off, the diving platform that is...Any thoughts on this? One minute I want to keep it and the next minute I want to remove it for good....Driving me nuts.

An earlier thread brought up the positives for having the platform. It sure comes in handy when someone needs to get back on the boat after swimming.

If you ever need to make a sea rescue or if you fall overboard at the dock or any place else. You will be glad you have it.

Make a list of the pros and cons to help you decide:
here are a few thoughts:
PRO
good for dingy access
good for water access
aid in possible rescue
some protection for swimmers from props
useful of carrying dingy across stern
can fish from/keep guts outside
offers bragging rights if another boat lacks,
can offer bump protection from stern
possible leak source if badly damaged
helpful to assist cutting prop fouling line
may muffler exhaust sound

CON
adds to length for marina costs
can be damaged backing into slip
may intefere with fishing
may hinder exhaust water flow view
another maintenance item

Also remember resale. Unless it will be used strictly for fishing, most people will probably want it. I know after sinking the money you did you are probably not selling any time soon. BTW. When it comes time to sell it to me I want the platform LOL.
