This link is a map/photo combination that allows one to visually explore many areas of the Abacos. For example, one can move the map portion over Sea Spray / White Sound on Elbow cay and peruse many detailed photos. Seeing more detail of what happened at Sea Spray has been heart breaking. And that is only the tip. Anyway, if you have a special place over there, take a gander. Use the map portion to move over an area and then click on the icons to move the photos.

The devastation is mind boggling. We did two Trips to Great Turtle after Dorian, one week and again 3 weeks after the storm, loaded with about 8000lbs of supplies. Almost every home had damage, many beyond repair. It a going to take years especially considering how incompetent the government is...

As a 2nd home owner over there, it is more accurate to say everything is gone. Winds gusting to 235mph (a F4 tornado with a wind field 50 miles wide) stalled over you for 3 days will do that, unfortunately. BPL says Abaco should have electricity in another 4 months. It will be 5 or more years before Abaco is a "destination" again with much of the old character lost to new development.

About the only people with a livelyhood over there now are in grocery stores and construction. So many have moved out.
Sadly I think 5 years is optimistic.

The government isn't doing anything. In fact they still have 51 bodies in a freezer by the government building in Marsh.
