Hatteras Model
32' FLYBRIDGE FISHERMAN (1983 - 1987)
I have an old r41x by Raytheon that used to be on my boat. It worked before I updated to Furuno but now it gives a bearing pulse error...(I tried it out just recently.) I think its either a bad connection or a board that may need replaced. The system originally was about $500 and I bought a new cable for about $225. This system is complete...just needs troubleshooted and repaired.

Make me an offer and pay for shipping. Its heavy and will take 3 boxes to pack up. If you live near Philadelphia, PA I may be able to met you somewhere.

When you tried it out you turned the unit on before the antenna was attached and it poped one of the fuses on the back of the unit. When that happens, you get "bearing pulse error" message. Could be something else, but check those out and hook up all the wires/cables before you turn it on and my bet is it works just fine again.

Sorry, don't need this one but love the Raymarine units...

FWIW, the bearing pulse error is usually associated with the array spinning too slowly. In turn, the zerk on the base of the array often can benefit from a shot of grease and then ensure it is receiving a full 12.5v. Low voltage to the array will also generate that error.
