I have reviewed 2 hours worth of searches on the site. Does anyone have a procedure to access and then adjust the clutches in a 10" light. Mine turns intermittantly left and right but no up and down.. I hear both motors turning as I move the stick appropriately so am guessing that a clutch adj. is necessary.. Thanks..for your help.

John, I have a different spot light but I will text you what that manufacturer told me. Who knows the may be close.

John, I can't text it. Send me your e mail address on the PM site. Rusty

When I rebuilt my Rayline, I found that the 'gear lube' was so old and congealed in the 2 little servo motors, that it was actually stopping them from working. I simply cleaned out the old lube, and put just a very light covering of white lube on the gears. It worked well and we were away to the races. This did require a total removal and tear down of the light; an interesting winter project 3 years ago that continues to work today.
I also make sure now, that the light is swung several times left/right and top/bottom to its stops weekly to ensure no atrophy sets in.

I think if you search this site, you will find threads/posts from back around 2005 covering the disassembly/restoration of those lights. I posted several myself and others did as well. If the posts are still here, they will probably tell you everything you need to know.

As noted, once cleaned/restored, operating the light from stop to stop in all directions periodically will keep the clutches from sticking.

This just added: Do a site search using "Rayline," and prepare to read... ;)
