These are the pics I got of the raw water pump. It is clearly a Jabsco. The end plate shows the DD logo and Detroit Diesel and what looks like 5 06016. Should I just call Sam's?

That's a standard, easy to get parts for Jabsco sea water pump. I'm not absolutely certain but, I think there is only one or a very few models of Jabsco Seawater pumps for 6-71s. You should be able to get part numbers off of the plate by scraping off the paint. Otherwise, you should contact a DD parts guy or J&T, Covington or who ever supplied your engines. I'll Check my 6-71s tonight to see if I can get the info you need.

Right on Boatsb. (www.depcopump.com) Very good people to deal with.

Rag, you can email these pics to Depco and I'm certain they will get for you what you need.

One word of caution, it's fairly simple to replace the impellors (may need two screw drivers to pry them out). But if you are planning on replacing bearings you will need a press. If you attempt this you may discover that the "race" on which the bearing seats can easily get too worn over the years to warrant rebuilding.

So if the pumps are not leaking sea water I would only replace the impellers and seal that comes in the kit. The folks at Depco can explain all this to you. You can also ship your pumps to Depco and they will do the work for you if you wish.
