I went for my routine, motor start up and when I twisted the port ignition key there were no reassuring alarms. Pushing the started button revealed silence....bummer. Especially in light of hernia producing new batteries just being installed.

I traced the problem to the toggle switch on the Raritan battery charger set in the OFF position. Brilliant mechanical diagnostician !!! So the dumb question is, Does that Raritan have any automatic capability to toggle that switch or more likely did I nail it with my oversized foot on a trip up or down the ER access ladder.

RE: The AC Switching panel. There are two silver knobs on the panel. The one on the left has 3 positions, Gen, 240, 120. Pretty self explainatory. I use a 240, 50amp power cord so I leave that in the 240 position, right ? The right knob just reads Line 1 and Line 2. Is that for evaluating the current input in a two power cord set-up? Which position , if it matters, do I leave that switch in?

There are also 2 meters. One volts and one amps. The volts read 240 from the power cord (very good Forest) and the amp meter just tells you how much current is being drawn off the power cord, right?

What other diagnostics, if any, are possible with this board?

Thank you for any help,

Greg

Greg, I don't think the battery charger has anything to do with the alarms not going off. I get the same indications on my boat sometimes. I think it is a bad connection somewhere. Since it works most of the time I don't worry about it. It could be that when you turned on the battery charger the voltage to your instruments was higher and this jolted them into working.
As far as the meter readings go the 3 position switch for gen, 240, and 120, are for when the genny is on, should read 240 v. The 240 position is reading the voltage when the 240 50 amp cable is connected and the 120 position is for when you have the 120 30 amp cable plugged in. The 2 position switch is for reading the amperage draw from each of the 2 120 branch circuits in your panel. The 240 volt is split in the breaker panel into 2 120 volt panels. The switch can be left in any position, it is just for monitoring. Ron
