Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Or, one thing I learned at the Rendezvous. I have 30amp Smartplugs on the boat and use 2 short cords with male twist lock plugs to connect to box at home. The box at the Wharf is a little further away from the boat connection so I used 2 additional cords creating a connection hanging down at the transom. We has a little rain shower Saturday morning. Sunday am when I unhooked one of the plugs at the connection was burned and rain water dripped out of the female plug. Guess I need to remember to protect the connections from rain.

Got on the inet shopping for a new cord and learned that Smartplugs now makes Shorepower cords with a female SP plug one one end and a twist lock male one the other and tinned wire connecting the two. It also looks like the now have a 50 amp plug!

plastic bag and electrical tape when you join to shorelines together.

I wrap my connections with Saran, starting at the lower end of the connection and work upward as I wrap. That way it sheds water naturally. Tightly tape top and bottom and the middle for luck. No issues with all the rain is SOFL over the past 5 years.

Like the saran wrap idea... I'be been using the 1 gal Ziplock bags then taping the open end and make sure it's tipped or secured so as to be angled up a bit with the open end down and had no problem with that.......

Good suggestions, thanks
