I have a Garmin 6kw pedestal that has some of the paint/powder coating flaking off. Is there a paint anyone has used to do touch ups that won't interfere with the radar performance, etc? Garmin would be happy to repair it for me for $1,500, but that's a bit steep...

If it is actually on the radar set in the beam ,make sure it is lead free.

Right, the only place that paint matters is the front cover of the array. That has to be metal free. The rest of it, use whatever you want. I'd probably go with an enamel or polyurethane.

Thanks fellas.

The array is not metal. Its paintable with a non metallic paint and will not be effected. The pedestal housing is aluminum ( pronunciation determined by the reader) and was powder coated.

If its peeling I'd be looking at why before repairing or repainting. Powder coat is more durable than paint especially when properly applied.
