Do you guys use "the wedge" or do you buy the fancy self leveling mounts four your radar installations? How do you know what angle of wedge to get....I'm certaininly not sitting on the hardtop while running to get my running angle/attitude. :-)

I mounted mine to the half tower without either.

It sits parallel the waterline at rest and at displacement speeds. At cruise, it doesn't seem to lose any efficiency.

I was not sure if I needed the wedge or not. I seem to run close the same attitude as I do when I'm sitting in the water. I could be wrong but figured I should ask. I was going to mount it directly to the top (There is a radar plate embedded in the hardtop.)

Heightwise I noticed that there are not a lot of options for the open array...figured maybe it did not need to be on a mount because the antennae sits on a pedestal that allows the beam to get over the hardtop...with a dome you probably need some height to be able to see close to the boat by getting up over the hardtop.

Any thoughts?
