  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
50' CONV -Series I (1966 - 1969)
For anyone who has the old type Racors (1000FG) lid and t handles that use the square orings here's the part #RK-11004
I just ran out and ordered more. The orange round ones in the filter kits cause a suction leak at the t handle

If you want to upgrade the lid and handle the #'s are Lid- RK-11-1933-04 T handle RK-11-1945
Then it will accept the new style oring.

The rebuild kits used to come with both style o-rings. Is that not the case anymore?

Any idea when the lid change was made by Racor? Do the lids look significantly different? We have a 1992 43C. I assume the filters are original even though it has been repowered.

It's pretty self evident. The t handle is beveled for the round oring and flat for the square one. I was going to upgrade but it would be $150 for both Racors and orings are $6 and have worked fine since 1977.

It seems like I have to prime the fuel system more often than I should, so I started digging into this. It appears the FH series started in 2002. I seem to recall that the FG Series started in 1993, but can't find where I saw that.

We have a '92 43C. The Racors have been painted so I don't know for sure what we have. Now I assume they are probably FF series. All of the T-handles I have looked at are flat on the bottom.

According to the documentation I have found, the FG and FH should use the O-ring seal on the T-handle.

The FE and FF series prior to 1993 should use the fiber washer and square ring seal.

Now, I have installed the adapter and vacuum gauge on the mains, and went to the O-ring seal. Next time I am on the boat, I am going to switch to the fiber washer and square seal. I might even go back to the T-handles for a test.
