Has anyone rebuilt a Racor 900 fuel filter housing? I got the kit but was unabe to get the seal changed at the base of the plexi glass tube
I could not see how it was held together still leaks . I would appreciate any advice , and thank you in advance.
Cheers Stewart

The Racor 1000s have no obvious way to hold the center tube on - it's a press-fit and DOES come off. It doesn't look like it should, but it does, and there's a seal ring under there - the same seal that's on the lid and on the bottom bowl.

I don't know if the 900 works the same way, but I bet it does.

So will the tube tap off and is it held in place with the center rod and pressure from the T handle? Stewart

It is on the 1000s. It's a press fit into the center section on those and has a habit of getting stuck - sometimes VERY stuck.

The 1000s I had were metal tubes and were able to be tapped off. It took more force than I expected, but it did come. If the 900s are plastic tubes my concern would be with fracturing them while getting it apart.

When I did mine I don't think they had been apart in 20 years. They were stuck good but leaking so I had little choice but to try, and was successful.

Thanks I will be doing it again in 2 weeks, Its operational but
needs to be proper thanks .
Stewart
