Quiet Fresh water pump wanted.

I currently have a shurflo dual pump system, but it's pretty noisey. It seems that one of the pumps is louder than the other. I don't have a reference if it normal or not. It's very annoying at times. Would a Groco style Sr. or Jr system be a quiet alternative? I already have a new 1 gallon accumulator tank. Thanks,

Grocos are less noisy, more money, and VERY reliable. Basically every part of a Groco system can be rebuilt or replaced. I think the system I have is a WPO-80. Not cheap, but worth it, like all their products.

PO never used the system, so it was installed well before him. It was not factory. The galley maid required 40 amp the the 1979 boat was wired for 30 Amp.

I've got both a DC Galley Maid, and an AC shallow well jet pump. The A.C. pump is quiet as a church mouse, and the 10 gallon accumulator tank provides water even when the genny isn't running. Not enough for a shower, but plenty. The DC pump is pretty noisy.

I wanted to add a DC backup so I called Head Hunter about their DC pumps. Andre talked me out of it. He suggested using another brand like Shureflow for cost and simplicity sake. I have a HH Mach 5 ac pump and it’s awesome.

I have a Groco Paragon Senior 12 v pump with an accumulator tank nearby. I’m not sure I would say it is quiet but much better than other 12 v pumps I have had on other boats. When it runs it is not obnoxiously loud and does not run very long at a time. Previous owner had installed and is probably a little over kill for our boat but it has some nice features like shutting off if run dry. I really like the idea of rebuilding if needed too.

For AC pumps either the Headhunter Mach 5 or Grundfos Jetpaq (M3 series) are great.

I definitely considered that unit, hopefully I will like the HH unit.

We have both now. HH ac pump and a Shureflow dc pump.
