Q-SPD Surface Drives?

Anyone know anything about Q-Speed (Q-SPD) surface drives? The cat I am helping my boss build...hull #1 was fitted with them and the guy who sold us the molds is trying to sell my boss the drives...I think the idea of using surface drives by any manufacturer is STUPID for a passenger ferry...but I really don't know much about Q Speed...

Given your need for speed, surface drives would be the only way to go. Cuts down on draft too. Never heard of Q-SPD though.

I saw a CC that had cummins with surface drives and the owners loved it. It gave them better performance at high speeds and was great in shallow water. No reason it cant work for a passenger ferry.

Don't know why I didn't think of this before, but check this thing out. I've ridden on it, and it hauls ass. Maybe it will give you some ideas.

PS This thing is driven by 4 Cats hooked to waterjets.
