I'm planning a trip with the boat to visit my parents who live on Lake Huron.
Lake Huron generally has a very rocky shoreline. Anything from pebble size rocks mixed with sand and a lot of 2 to 5" diameter rocks and bigger.

I'm in the market for a new dinghy as the 13' Whaler has just proven to be too big.

So I'm looking at RIB dinghy's with both fiberglass and Aluminum hulls.

Is there any kind of rubber stick on sheet material I could stick or glue onto the hull (or other ideas) I could use to protect the hull?

I would hate to trash a brand new (to me anyways) hull of a dinghy!

I know some come with a keel protector but that would only be, I'm guessing, maybe 4 to 6 inches wide and I would like to protect a good portion of anything that might scrape bottom.

Any thoughts?

Where on the lake Bob? Just curious. Spent my childhood summers in Lexington Heights when I wasn’t on LSC.

I say, buy the dinghy and use it. Its gonna get beat up if you use it. When it gets so bad you can't stand it, it's time for a new one.

HOF ballers be like:

Well I was going to recommend the "keelguard" product but someone beat me to it!

Barrier and hard bottom paint may help too.
