prop question

I am looking for the optimum prop for a gas 32' sportfish. Does anyone w/ 32' knowledge know what size props perform the best. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I'm pretty sure that someone has gone through this exercise before. I am running 19"x19" 4-blades at this time. I'm not even sure what the factory installed. Thanks.

If those props allow your engines to turn up engine manufacturer recommended WOT RPM you are all set.

Otherwise, you'll need to post what engine and HP and reduction drive you currently have.

I am running 454 mercruisers and turn 3900 to 4000 rpm max.

A pair of 8.1's would really make it move.

Let's just optimize what we have. Unless, you can find a couple of 8.1's that fell off the back of a truck. You must have connections! Let's compare a winter rebuild to the new power. We can't cut into my RUM budget and definitely can't compromise the wife's shoe budget!

You could call Sam's and they can probably tell you what OEM was. Hatteras could get you the "Vital Information" sheet if you give them your hull #, which will tell you the different pieces of equipment your boat left the factory with.
