My swim ladder steps looked pretty nasty. Used Starboard and made new ones. This stuff works like buttah!

Are you going to put the rubber inserts in them for additional traction?

No plans to right now. The grooves provide some grip, like the originals. For us, that ladder is mostly unused.

Make some for me! That looks amazing :)

The starboard came from boatoutfitters.com. A 12x27 inch sheet of 3/4 was $57 bucks. You can spec out the steps on their website and they'll make them ($350 bucks.. LoL) Router, table saw, and drill were the only tools involved. The stuff cuts and routes very easily. The new stainless "sex" bolts are from boltdepot.com. Easy DIY job.

These bolts are the closest thing to "sex" in a while!

Great project! I wish I had seen this years ago I would have given up on the teak steps on our ladders while we owned Freedom.

Looks very good. This just may be the cure for my fly bridge ladder, I like the teak but I am terrible with the upkeep of sanding and cetol. This might make the boat look a little more modern also.

I did the same for steps on my CC starboard is slick when wet so you need the grooves. It also has no strength so it needs support underneath. You can’t replace steps on a bridge ladder without adding a SS plate under it. Even 3/4 SB will sag

Right. I looked at Starboard steps but I ended up having another forum member make me SSS ones instead, and getting the bridge and boarding ladders welded up with them. I don't miss having to do those teak steps twice a year.

All these boats are a little different. The swim ladder on the 63MY, is a "sandwich" construction with a stainless plate between top and bottom teak treads. You are right. The starboard, especially when hot, hasn't much strength.

Well Dang It! Put the new swim ladder treads on.... wifey liked them sooo much.. I've been instructed to replace the other treads. 5 @ 4 1/16 x 15 1/8. .. oh well, a project for another day! $71 bucks including shipping. My labor is free of course.
