Progressive Insurance

I hope none of you have your boats insured with Progressive Insurance. They are a nite mare to deal with on a claim. Our experience is with a car accident but I am sure a boat claim would be just as bad. I have USAA but the person who hit us has Progressive. They claim they can’t get ahold of there insured which is now going on 3 months (yea sure I believe that). Then they had the nerve to send me a survey asking how happy I am with there service so I ripped them a new one in the survey and surprise I actually got a long voice mail message from them saying they are looking into it. That should gain them another few months to do nothing. John

But why would you deal with the "at fault" party's insurer.? If your claim is for personal injury, you should have a lawyer. If it is for property damage, it is your insurer who you look to; they then subrogate.

We did that because nothing was happening with the claim. Progressive sent us a letter saying that they had been trying to reach us, we had no text, no email or no phone calls from them even though they said they were trying to contact us. That is the reason we contacted them. My insurance company finally paid the claim even though they have not received payment from Progressive. I am very happy for that, hope they get their money.

I called Progressive when I first bought this boat...while calling every company to see which ones would consider it. They only insure up to 35'. I would guess most of their customers come from those who already have their car insurance.
