Hatteras Model
48' LRC (1976 - 1981)
My boat has been at Aqua Yacht Harbor since last December undergoing repairs due to some fire damage suffered last summer. It's been a really tough year without a boat in the water. However, I can now see the end. Everything except the decks have now been painted and the boat is being put back together. I'm hoping to get back in the water in the next few weeks. Here she is.

Looks great. What happened?

Paul,
I have a 53 of F dock and have watched with great envy the progress on your LRC. Aqua has a good crew, and it is good to see your boat coming back to its glory.

Looking good! Can't wait to haul mine for a repaint and other things to do!

A boat caught fire at the fuel dock, the dock crew cut it loose and it drifted over into the back of my boat before they could pull it off. My boat didn't actually catch fire but was scorched and suffered damage from the fire. Turns out it was more extensive than we originally thought. The Imron held up well in places but the fiberglass underneath was melting. We cruised six days from my home port of Nashville to Aqua Yacht the first week in December where she has been ever since. I've been going to visit and check on progress every few weeks or so.

Hey that's cool. It's a great marina. I wish I could be there more often.

More pics please. Would love to see the final product and any pics along the way. There's nothing like a new paint job.

I think I'm going down to check on some things next week. I'll try to get some updated pics then.

Keep the photos coming. Watching the restoration of the Chris Craft on this site has keep a lot of us entertained. Love seeing them come back to life. Thanks for sharing.

Dang. I'm sorry I didn't realize people wanted to see this or I would have done a better job to let those interested follow along. I'm hoping I'm showing pics of her hitting the water soon. This has been a very long project. It's been terrible learning how non boaters live, I don't recommend it.

We are getting ready to order the new radar and KVH dish. Im deciding now whether I want to kick in some extra money to upgrade my Raymarine multifunction displays. Also going down next week to measure in order to replace the bellows on my dripless shaft seals. Looks like I'm either gonna have to have someone drive or fly in to replace my NAIAD seals or buy the tool to remove them. According to NAIAD I need the model number for that.

If your considering new electronics now's the time. Get them installed when she's still at the yard so the cutouts and mountings will look factory clean.

I can offer suggestions if you need. Pm me with questions.

Looks great! Do you have any before pix?

This is still difficult for me to see.

No fire but scorched. And apparently you must turn your head to view. Sorry, I struggle with adding pictures. I'm usually surprised when they even show up.

She had been repainted when I got her which is one reason why I took her home in the first place. The whole boat had pretty much been redone. She is spectacular. I had just been kind of looking at them and sure a LRC was what I wanted but needed to sell my Grand Banks Alaskan first. I figured I would then take awhile to find a nice one. However, when I saw this boat I couldn't pass it up. So I had two boats for quite awhile.

Thanks Tom. You are an IT genius.

Just ordered two Raymarine eS97's to go with the HD Color radar. And a Navpod for the fly ridge.

Thank goodness for insurance.
