Power room ventalation

1989, 65' power room. Where all the AC condensing stations, Gen-sets, Shore power transformers and Black water tank are located.
Common layout to most boats of this design.
What sick mind designed the ventilation (lack of) for this area?
A single DCv, 3" exhaust blower???

Has anybody done anything to improve the ventilation to this area?

Well that’s not what I expected when I read the title. But here goes. The MV Hello World (88’ 60MY had a 8000W inverter with a big bank a lithium batteries installed in the genny room. He had the installers branch an AC line from the supply to the galley down into the genny room for ventilation. Hopefully Scott is looking at my VRM account and deciding whether I need to do the same based on my current battery temps. That’s a 10 hour run on our 20 KW causing those temps today. The OAT is 78 degrees. By the way, thanks again Scott for monitoring my system!
 
Generators will move more air when running than you can get with ventilation. It's after they're shut down that things get hot.

Don't count on the 50 year old designs to take new technology into account either. But blaming the engineer to show how smart you (think you) are does pad the ego.

It has been near 100° for days now, Where are you reading 76° outside temps?

So, it was your AC duct diverted down the the power room?
This boat is galley up but a twin cabin is above the power room. Have to think about this.

Still, does not help with real ventilation I feel it should have down there.
 
First off, not my boat, second Wisconsin. Third, he has a 60MY, which is a Galley down. The generator/power room is below the galley. If his boat is set up like mine, there is an air handler underneath the forward galley seat. He put a Y in the supply line and ran one supply line down to the generator room for cooling.
 
So, Nobody else has a power room ventilation room issue or fix?
 
Well I had a 54' MY but the generator room under the galley was set up with a single 4 inch inlet and 4 inch exhaust fan on the opposing side. The battery banks, generator, AC raw water pumps, original Crusair units (4) all were housed in that space. When I started looking at the ventilation, I noticed the existing fan was seized and looked around for a replacement. I ended up installing an inline exhaust fan (120v, but I couldn't find a 24v in my price range), which helped. I did consider running a vent line down when I installed the single-piece new AC unit in the forward cabin, but that AC was cooling the galley and V-berth. Once I removed all the defunct Crusair compressors, and freed up space, I just had a standalone fan I'd plug in back in the back corner while working in the genny room. The cross ventilation from the exhaust fan helped, but SW Florida was pretty harsh in the summer.
