I have been running into a dead short on my 50 amp 125/250 v shore power connection. It trips the breaker on the pedestal immediately. I am 99% certain the problem lies in one of the plugs involved. My setup is as follows: glendinning cable master 50 amp line which I only extend out about two feet. From there, I attach a permanent dock cord with the female end going into my glendinning cord and the male end going into the pedestal. I have swapped out dock cords with the same result. I have swapped out outlets on the pedestal with the same results. That leads me to the Glenndinning cord. Since I have owned the boat, I was curious why the male end of the Glendinning cord only had two metal prongs rather than the three I am used to seeing. Nevertheless, for the past 8 years, I have had no problems. I am going to replace the male end of the Glendinning with the traditional three prong male end. Just curious, has anyone ever heard of a properly setup 50 amp 125/250v power cord with only two prongs on the male side?
