New problem.
port and Starboard engine oil press gauges randomly indicate "0". usually reads around 35/40 psi or so. My first thought is I have a short or a bad connection somewhere in the circut. but both gauges seem odd to me. the alarm does not sound and there is oil in the engines.

Where do I look?

Mario

hey mario, if your guages are original they are probably mechanical guages, with hoses running to the back of each of them. if they are electric guages, and both are having the same problem, i would look for a ground problem, that should be the only common connection for both of them. bigbill

Mario,

If they are electric, check the voltage also. HAtt used a stepdown transformer to 12V for the gauges. That would affect both gauges. Also, do both the lower helm and the bridge gauges do this, or just one helm?

Yes they are electric gauges. I haven't checked if the problem is also located at the bridge. I'll check the ground and the transformer. Mario

I have an intermittent problem on my stbd engine, it's the sender mounted on the engine.
