There's a popping noise when one walks around our back deck. Kinda like a noisy floor board on wood floors at home. I always just thought is was kinda charming but someone who was on the boat today wondered if I should be concerned about that - like maybe some delamination of the core is occuring??? Only deck issue I always watched for is a soft spot (wet core). Is this something for me to be worried about?

Gracias

If you sound the area with your hand or a rubber mallet, how big is it? Where is it located? Was it always there?

You will occasionally find a spot where the top layer of glass did not bond to the coring. This will sound hollow or might even flex and crackle. Before vacuum bagging it was common to have a small spot like that here or there. If that is what it is, don't worry.

I have one of those popping spots outside on the deck between the PH door and the bow seating area - right next to the "raised" area in front. I inspected it from the underside, too. Found nothing. We have investigated some suspicious spots like this and found spots where it wasn't wetted out well enough. It's annoying and you can open it up and wet it out, or you can leave it alone and don't worry about it.

Thanks guys - appreciate your comments

I have one that occurs in the summer as the sun sets and the boat contracts. Happens every sunny day. Other than the pop, there is no signs of other propblems in that area of the deck.
