I put a Vinyl Teak looking laminate down last spring on my aft deck. It is constantly getting wet back there and wetting the carpet. It comes in 3'' x 3' strips and it comes with pressure sensitive glue on each strip to hold it all together They over lap 1 inch on 2 sides so there are no seams to collect anything if done correctly.. The material just floats and is not glued down. You can glue the outer edges if you want. I sealed the edges with bathroom caulk to keep the dirt from getting under the vinyl. It's made for bathrooms and does not mold and is water proof. It looks great and so far it shows no signs of any wear. Its not slippery at all. We also have a water proof throw rug that lays under and in front of the couch. The material is flexible like warm linoleum and can be repaired should it get cut or scratched. We entertained on the forth of July and had 50+ Guest tramp through the boat spilling boose and food with no signs of wear. It cuts with a knife and lays real easy. Everyone compliments on it's looks the minute they step on the boat. It sells at Home Depot for $44. bucks a box. It was about $250. bucks to do the whole aft deck. The admiral loves it and rates it an A+. No more moldy carpets. No waxing. Just mop or squirt off with the hose. Its not Plasteak, but its a whole lot cheaper and no worries. I don't know how it will react to direct sunlight like on the main deck. Thinking about doing the galley, heads and fly bridge this spring.
