Hatteras Model
61' MOTOR YACHT (1980 - 1985)
Chatting with my yacht broker this morning on another issue, he mentioned he has a 58' Hatteras Cockpit MY asking price in the low $200's, although it will sell around $110k. He says its the 'deal of the century' and I trust his judgement - he has proven to be trustworthy and is a veteran broker. Just thought I'd pass it along for whomever is ready to move up. He would not forward info on a boat unworthy of purchase. PM for his contact info.

58' CPMY for 50% off the asking price?!
OK, I'll bite. PM me the information please. Maybe I need 2 58's at the marina. One slow boat....one a little faster....

No kidding... Maybe I can do a "free" upgrade....details?

I received the details on the boat and it looks like a deal IF.......you like Baby Blue.

Interior soft goods? If so...that's cheap and easy to fix. We redid all the interior soft goods on Lady Linda to transform her into Saraswati...

It's not interior soft goods, let's just say it wasn't hard to figure out which one it is on YW. It's also not a 58 Cockpit MY, but a Yachtfish.

I tried to tell ya!

"Baby" Blue? That ain't nobody's baby. Looks like something out of the movie Avatar. You just wonder about what some people think is attractive.

hey, hey, if the price is right, i'm sure you can have the hull re-painted white for around ten grand....bigbill

10 grand? I'd hate to see how terrible that would look. Id expect a good spray job, hull only to be 30+ grand. Sad that the owner choose that color...she was just painted last year. According to the listing thats a brand new paint job. Guess the owner can hop to find someone with similar taste, but that color could b the reason she is so cheap...

Just the hull is pretty easy. You could probably get a quality job for 10-15 K

what would you ball park for rub rail up (non skid and smooth surfaces)?

I was told to count on $1,000 per foot then round up to the nearest $10,000 mark for a complete job. So, for a 58 that would be $60,000. If you take the $15,000 that Brian suggests for a hull only, round that to $20,000, that would leave $40,000 for rail up...seems semi-reasonable considering there is a LOT more labor involved...

Them some big numbers for paint.

If the hull is in good shape and just needs the color changed look more to the $10-15K tops that Brian stated.

If the above decks are in good shape then figure about $20K.

If there is lots of prep and repair the $1K per foot becomes more reasonable.

I have seen a 50 foot hull prepped for a re spray in less than 4 man days. (2 men 2 days) With all the people spending money on their boats like it is going out of style lately ( insert sarcasm) I bet the prices are more reasonable than 3 years ago.

I can see it from where I'm sitting right now... Any questions anyone?? I got the scoop on her, my buddy takes care of it.

I have started to like the color after looking at it for the last three months. I have two other light blue painted hulls in my line of sight too....

I don't mind the blue, in fact Viking had a boat show this past weekend in Palm Beach, Most of the Convertables had the same blue on their hulls. Maybe the 58 started a trend.

Call me crazy- I like the hull color.
