Found this cleaning the heat exchanger today. It is a DIY impeller kit for a 12V71ti. I bought a new impeller so I don't need this one. Best Offer, no lowballer's, I know what I got!

Unfortunately I need two. Maybe next year?

Not bad for 10 years since last acid dip. I'm on fresh water so I didn't expect the worst.

I e got the rubber cement. We can rebuild it. I’ll be in touch. Lol

Ya know it never fails. I just picked up a set of these in the aftercooler of my QSM11 and now I see these available.

Clearly you need to floss your aftercoolers more often.

A little concoction of Muriatic, phosphoric and oxalic acid and these things clean right up AND kill unwanted livestock!

Mmmm. Makes a hell of a mussel stew too.

For anybody interested. It took 9 lbs of baking soda to get a neutral Ph on the dipping solution on the heat exchanger.

That's why I tried Barnacle Buster this time. I'd say it did as good a job as the DD muriatic acid cocktail, but with much easier disposal.

I'll try Barnicle Buster next time (Worst Marine was out, but they could order it for me!) From what I read, BB is 85% phosphoric acid, then to make 5 gallons, dilutes it to 21%. Home Depot sells Kleen Strip Concrete etching solution, which is 24% phosphoric acid at 17 bucks a gallon. I had the muriatic acid left over from the last time... but you're correct, proper disposal is a pain, and people get down right disagreeable with a fish kill!
