I've used KiwiGrip too, and recently Awlgrip with aggregate mixed in and sprayed ( Awlgrip done professionally). Kiwigrip can be made extremely aggressive, which I did on purpose for my swim platform. It would cut you, and probably steal your wallet, if you fell on it. However, I've seen 34Hatt's Kiwi Job and it was nowhere near as aggressive as mine - really nice tread pattern, you would never know it was the same product I have on my swim platform. Yachtsmanbill used it to with 'professional' looking tread - that part of Yachmansbill mega thread turned me onto Kiwi several years ago. Kiwigrip super easy to apply, just tape and go with one coat, literally dries in minutes. You really need 2 people to do large sectons, it dries that fast. Watch the online instructional videos, time well spent.
In fact, I've got 3 gallons of it in Hatteras Off White I could let you have at good discount. I was going to use on decks, but went with Awlgrip as I wound up having the entire deck, including smooth sections, professionally painted and he was comfortable with Awlgrip for non skid areas as he had used it before. While it’s a function of how much aggregate you mix in the paint, I feel mine is kind of sissy, but certainly better than nothing which is what i've had since I've owned boat. It does look great and sure it will function fine, just got use to ultra industrial stickiness of my swim platform. Anyway, let me know if you go Kiwi route, I'll give you good deal on 3 gallons I have, although I may siphon off 1/2 gallon from a can as I want to do fly bridge deck this spring.
