P1500BXT as Replacement for AC-5C-MD AC Pump?

Has anyone upgraded to the P1500BXT from the AC-5C-MD? The P1500BXT looks a lot more hefty with a brass housing. I am very curious if it has more resilience to running dry compared to the crappy AC-5C-MD which it seems that most of us have fairly regular problems with.

I have no experience with it, but no centrifugal pump can run dry. I've had air-cooled A/C pumps and found the motor less reliable than water cooled.

Not to test my luck but I have the ac5 that's at least 8 years old. I lubricate it 2 x a Year and it runs great.

I have a spare of course so that's probably why it works so well.

I just had my P1500BXT lock up. After looking at replacements and not satisfied w/ other constructed pumps/motors, I took mine to a re-builder and they replaced the bearing in motor. I ordered the pump seal kit and gave it to them to replace. All said and done cost was around $500 and still have a lot more solid of a pump/motor! Just my 2 cents worth!
