Our 48 LRC has what I believe is the standard steering station overhead wood cabinet for mounting electronics. It starts from the overhead white vinyl, and drops down at a forward angle, then takes another turn toward the windshield and next heads back to the overhead in a single panel. The second tier facing aft has my three electric windshield wiper controls mounted on a removable panel. I have all the outside hardware off, and the control panel out. Next I have to remove the lower aft facing panel. As best I can tell, I must first remove the upper aft facing panel (electronics) because the upper edge of the lower panel is held in place by some screws under the lower edge of the upper panel. Can anyone confirm that this is the procedure as I would hate to take all this apart only to find there is an easier way. Is access easier by trying to remove the back panel? Decided to ask first this time.
