I have recently discovered small holes in both the shower sump discharge hose and the forward bilge pump discharge hose. Both hoses are the grey corrugated hose. These are the leaks I "know" about. What are the pro/con arguments for repair vs replace? I lean toward replace. What material should I use and just how difficult a job should this be?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I replaced both of those hoses last year. I used the smooth white silicon hose that is touted as "odor safe" waste hose. I'd never use it again for waste, but it does work fine for this purpose.

BTW, I also added ventilated loops to both hoses. I have had problems in the past when the boat was heavily loaded with both of those hoses' outlets going below the waterline and siphoning seawater back into the boat as a result. The ventilated loops took care of this.

Replacement was not a big deal on my boat - a 1979 43C.
