Original bilge pump hoses

Has anyone run into a problem when trying to replace the original hose. I found out the outlet on the hull is like 1 1/4in and the fitting on a 1500 rule is like 1 1/8. Do I just try and downsize the fitting on the hull?

Personally, I'd upsize the bilge pump if it fits. I seem to recall that the 3800 Rule is 1 1/4".
