Does anybody here have any experience running on the old original 1960-63 (I think) 41 convertible yachtfish with the trunk cabin fwd?

I love browsing the old brochures archive and always liked the look of those old classics. The question I have is how they ride. In looking at some of the stern views while running, they sure look to have an almost flat transom. Someone else once told me they only draw about 2 1/2 feet, too. My guess is they'd ride pretty hard, but I'd love to hear of any actual experience. Just curious. Sure are pretty boats.

I have a 1963 41' it draws just under 3'. The boat rides great I have had it for the last16 years. It will go through anything its a tank .DSCF0129 (Medium).webpDSCF0133 (Medium).webp

what a beautiful boat. unbelievable that she is 48 years old.

Wow, dittos on that...she's beautiful! Talk about a classic.

Any idea where to find specs on that model? The brochures archive materials didn't list any. Thanks. Just love reading up on model trivia.

Paul - She looks great. I can imagine that she does run great. From your photos it looks like she has the same hull and running gear as our 1965 41 DCMY. When I ran our Hat to Sarasota for her refit I removed everything on board, all deck hardware, the windshield and top - everything but the steering wheel and engine controls. I emptied the water tank and had just enough fuel on board to make the run. She ran like never before. I imagine that your boat without the weight of the DCMY structure runs like this all the time.

What power do you have?

I would so love to see interior pics of your lovely classic, and if lucky, while running too :)

Boat is goind through a total refit now, new tanks are done witha new fiberglass deck new hatches with alluminum drais that go over board. I had a a cork deck installed byt Stazo marine. (this was domne last year) currently all the hardware has been removed and chrome plated. Windows are out and I have to make a decision on new frames. The topsides have all been painted looks great. I will post the most recent work shortly.

I think I have the orignal sales slips and brochures I will check my files

Have you looked at Broadus Rose windows at boatwindowframes.com. He's sold a lot of one piece fiberglass frames to Hatteras owners. He owns a 58 YF. If you go to any rendezvous you may have run into him. His number is 252 726 9132. When my frames need replacing that's what I'm going with.
