options for 11" mecanical guage?

My fresh water guage is caput despite being nursed along for years. A new 11" mecanical is $148 from Sams. Before I make the leap are there any other options??????????

Well, if you want one that going to work for a long time, get it from Sam's. Mine didn't work when I got the boat, and after years I replaced it with a new one from Sam's. The most difficult part was getting the old one out- it was welded into the port by corrosion and we had to get it out with a cutoff wheel. Not fun.

McMaster-Carr has one for $60.00.

Mcmasters 1.5" x 12" is $60 looks identical but ours are 2" aren't they and it says for fuel. any reason it would not work with water?

The socket that fits my guage is 2 3/8". I believe the thread size is 1.5" but not positive. I removed the fuel and water guages and they are identical.
