Be extra careful out there this week-end... not that anybody on here would ever consider drinking a beer while onboard. :D

I'll be extra careful if I am boating in New Ulm (MN), downtown Cheyenne (WY), or Pottstown (PA). of course I'll have to be sitting on a trailer at the time!

"drinking a beer while onboard"
On Canadian waters and highways...this is a 24/7 operation through-out the year, intensified on holidays and the penalties are harsh. Confiscation of vehicle/boat, direct to jail, loss of license(s), etc. So, when do you have a beer? Keeping below 0.08, can you have one while anchoured short term in a bay having a lunch? Can others legally drink while you're cruising and abstaining? What if you are secured at the dock but the keys are in the ignition?
In Canada, if you are washing the car in your driveway, have the keys in your pocket and blow over 0.08...it is off to jail for you! Also, if you are over 0.08, are the passenger in the car and your designated driver goes into the store for a pack of smokes, leaving the keys in the vehicle and the police come by...it is off to jail for the passenger.
Be careful, wise and informed!
