My master stateroom has never smelled as fresh as the rest of the boat, and today while installing a Air Lock air quality unit I noticed two large holes open to a larger compartment under the bed. Shouldn't these be closed up? Thanks

You don’t want return air to be the holes in from bilges or any other “wet” compartment. Closing these could help. Some builders use duct to feed air from the return vent in the room straight to the coils to prevent smells. Sometimes it s easier

Realize now you are heating, cooling and dehumidifying the compartment under the bed as it stands now. Maybe it was done for a reason?? Condensation ,during the winter ? smells during the summer ? Hell, stuff a rag in the holes and see what happens.......Pat
