Hurry forward and get a bow line on that piling Honey!........It's a little windy here!

That is a precious photo depicting "ignorance is bliss"!

Like to see what would happen if it got caught offshore and got the bow stuck into a few big waves.

Oh foolish me... A sea ray offshore... Guess we will never know

so that's why they have those sloping bows. makes it easier to launch your dinghy.

That whole wooden cradle deal under that RIB looks shaky to me. I'll bet it has never been tested in a good sea!

Damn...how do you deploy a fender that size??!! What is that? An F-42?

I hope he can deploy the anchor from the helm!

Without a davit, you must have to flood the forward bilge in order to drive that baby up onto the bow.

It's just decorative.

And who says we are a humorlous bunch on this site??

I think that Sea Ray has been commandeered by Homeland Security and they are using it to deliver and deploy their own small boats. The bow-shape allows them to just drop the boats on by crane and deploy them by a fast reverse of the mother vessel.

Guys, I could be wrong but it looks like there is bottom paint on that dink. My bet is they keep it in the water (or somewhere else) and are just transporting it from point A to point B while they relocate the SR. Lets declair today "be kind to SR day". After today we all may need pratice and retraining on dealing with the less fortunate. Does make a for a funny picture though. Regards, Bob K

That is really the emergency escape boat they just mounted it backwards...Cory

some jerk in a 45ish sedan passed me this afternoon coming in Fernandina Beach, 50' on port, no calls, and in a no wake zone... named "Just a Vacation" Asked him on 16 if the name of his boat was "Just a Jerk", he didn't reply...

Funny thing is that he had come down the ICW and went out the inlet but quickly came back in...

Pascal, again you are close to me.....

Sea Ray spent alot of money and time designing the perfect RIB launch system. You are only seeing part of it. Rest is under the forward deck. There is a 1000g water tank that fills up and drops the bow down to allow proper launching of the RIB. This can be done under way for a high speed launching. Further design is the drive unit. Yes they even thought of that. The drive shafts have a large u joint with a boot and an extendable strut that allows the prop to stay in the water when the stern rises out of the water. This way it can continue to move forward.
