Trying to get a reservation at a place just south of me for one night. Even though we are in our local off season the rate is at the highest. On dockwa the coupon is for August, we are going September 2nd to 3rd. So thats a no go. Only other discount is boatus which lobby's for sunken derelict boats to stay behind our house. Not ever going to join. No way to discuss with dockwa as its just a booking website. I have a "maybe" that dock master will call me but from talking to him last time I don't think he has any authority other that watch slips and get boats tied in.
Used to be you could call a marina, discuss all including slip preference, and change dates at last minute due to weather or boat issues. No more. My only changes last minute so far have been Clearwater Municipal marina and they will not charge you even though dockwa terms say they will. First time I ever get charged for not changing or cancelling reservation 48 hours in advance I will dispute charges. I ask every marina to be able to deal direct now. If not and I have another option they lose the business.
