Trying to determine whether or not my 1987 Onan generator has any zincs in it. From other posting it seems some do and some don't. I think mine may have two. Can anyone confirm? I've circled what I think are where the pencil zincs could be. Before I crank one off and screw something up I'd thought I'd ask here.
Thanks in advance.

I found a parts list on the heat exchanger. It looks like the highlighted plugs are just that, 1/4" plugs. There is no indication that a zinc should be put in there. I suppose I could change the plugs out and put pencil zincs in but I'm not sure that is a good decision.IMG_0722.webpIMG_0723.webp

Those are coolant drain plugs.

What would it hurt unless it could somehow restrict flow or break and get into the impeller? Or maybe if you put a petcock there and use it to drain the heat exchanger after each use?

I contacted Onan when we bought Pau Hana and they sent me the install, parts, and service manuals for our generator free. They were PDF files, so I could access them thru my laptop, phone or tablet. I'd reach out to their customer service and see if they'll do the same for you. I provided the generator SN, model, and that when we purchased the boat there were no manuals aboard. I'd offer to email you the manuals but my genny was an MDK series.
