Onan MDL-4 question

I have a 1989 20kw MDL-4 gen set. Trying to replace the exhaust hi temp switch. According to the parts manual this is an Onan p/n 309-0484. The part is about $100 depending where you shop. I found a company that makes these switches. Can buy for around $10. Problem is that I don't know the temp at which it activates. According to the service manual this should be a close on temp rise switch. Temperature? Does anyone know? My genny has a Monel riser. It does not look like the pic in the manual. Any help would be appreciated.

In my manual it shows the coolant temperature switch activated at 222 degrees.

High exhaust temp switch is 195, and opens again at 165.

Is this typical from factory or a modification?

Does this look like the orig. switch? Is that riser aftermarket?
