I surrender too........ we got almost a foot of snow on Thursday, another foot + yesterday and it started snowing a few hours ago today.

Two years ago here we had a winter drought. Everyone worried. Seems now like it wasn't so bad after all.

It's not so much the snow that's bothering me this year but the sustained COLD. Seems to me that we've not had that much this snow year compared to a few years ago when we had 3 MAJOR storms, also referred to as "snowmageddon".

holtcl, I'm with you--it's dang cold this year. I thought it was bad in 2003~04, when the Potomac froze over and temps didn't go above freezing for a month. But it never dropped below 20F. It's a whole nother category of cold when it goes near zero F, and much colder with wind chill.

On the flipside, I just got back from chopping up a bunch of red oak logs. There's something about cutting and stacking firewood on a sunny, cold day in snow-draped woods that makes me feel...I dunno...alive.
