Oil Filters DD 16v92 DDEC

WW Williams is suggesting to run 10 micron Part# 2353 0408 at the end and beginning of the season to clean out any dirt in the oil and then switch to Part# 2353 0407 which are the 30 micron for the season. This is a new one on me has anyone else done this or heard of it?? Good way to increase filter sales in nothing else I guess.......

The 408 is spec'd for HD duty and the 407 is standard duty. Since there're no downhill runs in boats, I consider this severe use. I only run the 408 and can't see any reason to switch between the two other than helping the Williams' guy win his sales contest.

I use the 408s also on my 16-92s. Three per engine. Oil is never too clean.

Went with the 408s......boat has Fram filters on it which per my internet search are 20 microns. Thanks for the feedback!
