Oh poop

Having sanitation problems on our 75 53my. I've tried about everything l know to do to get the original heads to work. The center head was slow to work when Randy was on the boat an continued to work up until three weeks ago. We have pumped out a bunch of times. This morning the bow head popped the CB an will not pump poop. I filled the tank with fresh water and it's pumping out as I write this. Will someone please explain for me how this system in entirety works. All advice is appreciated. Robby
