Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Trying to remove the original Cruise Air compressors. Each is held in place by 4 devil bolts. Originally thinking they were hanger bolts, machine thread on one end and lag screw thread on the other. The machine screw end it is double nutted. I was able to get them loose to the point that they turn easily, but none are coming out. Very little work space in a 43 DC. Experienced advice greatly appreciated!

Take a vice grip and snap the bolts off.

The vice-grip solution did not pan out. The rears were not accessible and the fronts just laughed at me. It turns out that they are carriage bolts that come up through the mounting platform. However, Mr. Sawzall came to the recue.

Ah, yes, the electrical equivalent of the blue tip speedwrench....
