assuming it s not shutting down due to high coolant temp, I d start by replacing both the primary and secondaries. Typically when a genny bogs down and shut down under load it s because it's not getting enough fuel.
Problem found! I thought it only shut down under load, I was wrong. The 15 amp braker on the DC side was going bad. After the fix I was talking to a dockmate he had the same problem three times. I replaced the braker with a simple inline fuse. So anyone with a Northern Lights generator make note of this. Could save you a lot of aggravation and $$$$.
