  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' LRC (1975 - 1981)
The Admiral and I are thinking about cruising down to Norfolk for the 4th of July fireworks display. Does anyone here have any information on where the shoot the fireworks from - and what the best anchorage/vantage point would be?

The barge is generally anchored about 100 yards directly off the Town Point Park area adjacent to the west side of Waterside. You can anchor in the Hospital Point area (next to the Naval Hospital), which makes for great viewing unless the winds are out of the N or NE (i.e. downstream of the smoke/ash). Tidewater Yacht Marina is also a great place to be during the fireworks shows but I believe they charge a 3-night minimum stay. I can probably get you a slip around the corner at our marina (Ocean Marine) where we'll be during that weekend. We just walk a couple of blocks north and watch the fireworks from the Portsmouth side.
