43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
1978 43' double cabin no start or crank on Port engine. Check for 12v at ign. switch no power.
Starboard engine starts, used parallel switch and still no crank. Need suggestions on what to check.

thanks

Check the large battery disconnect switch in the engine room. I had the same problem with my starboard engine. The switch literally fell apart. It was a tough job to replace because of all the heavy cables tied ti it. Good luck, Ron

Battery switch and Fuse at switch are good.

Shifters not in neutral ? Bad switch ?

Check neutral safey both at the shift levers and see if the grand is actually in neutral. Check the fuse inside the panel where He battery switch is. There should be a small Little Fuse or similar for the start circuit. This is separate from the large fuse you may have at the switch

Take a look at the red box in line with the fire suppressing system there is a disconnect switch on the top. You have to press it to engage. I hope this help

I have a key that has a mind of it's own. I have to wiggle it occasionally until it makes contact. I would not rule out key switch either.

Take a screw driver and jump solenoid start post to battery post on solenoid and see if starter is good.
Bob

Dont know which Hatt you have, but on mine, there is a solenoid in the battery isolator box. The Helm switch and plunger are light amperage, but they activate the solenoid in the battery isolator box, which throws the big amperage to the starter motor. About 30 bucks for the old Ford type 32v solenoid.

A multimeter is a handy thing......

Mine has ignition fuses in the aft state room closet under the main electrical distribution panel . Check those if yours has them.

Well ended up being a loose wire connected to the Ign. switch.

Amazing right. We always think the worst and most times it's the little things that are easily fixed.

The good thing about this is, we will all check that first before going deep. Thanks for bringing your problem to the forum. This weekend I will go in and check mine and make sure they are not loose.
