I removed a 10 year old water heater on our Hatt last weekend and was working out the new mounting and piping layout last weekend. It occurred to me that the new unit (Seaward) is largely of aluminum construction including the water inlet and outlet. (1/2" Female NPT) Surprisingly, the manual makes no mention of electrolysis nor does it recommend any particular type of material for the necessary fittings. I'm leery of using nylon for this application. I suppose that a stainless nipple would be a way around the problem. Would brass be suitable here. I'm ultimately connecting to a nipple input and a flared copper on the output. Suggestions?
