New Vs Older Version Bluecharts

Is there any difference in buying and using used Bluecharts (2005-07) vs purchasing a 2008 Bluechart. Such as New York/New Jersey or the Cheseapeake Bay Area Bluechart?

Always use the latest official charts available and keep them updated using the "Notice to Mariners".

More than likely no.

There may be a few changes, but you can get by with it, esepecially if there is a big difference in price. If the prices are pretty close then I would get the most recent one available.

The Blue Chart chip in my 2002 Garmin 182c isn't any different than my 2007 Chart Book, 2007 Navioncs Platinum (for my Raymarine C120), or my 2006 Navionics Gold (C70).

Of course things could be different in your area.
